GARUDA INDONESIA RESUMES FLIGHTS TO AMSTERDAM

On 1st June this year, Garuda Indonesia will resume its flights to one of the most interesting cities of Europe, Amsterdam, with a transit stopover in Dubai. News of this resumption has been much awaited by Garuda Indonesia’s customers who have yearned for the pleasure and pride of using the national airline to travel to The Netherlands.

Indonesia and The Netherlands share a strong historical connection, which is also the starting point for Garuda Indonesia’s burgeoning market network. Amsterdam, the biggest city in The Netherlands and the sixth biggest metropolis in Europe, is special and well worth a visit.

As many already know, this city is located in the province of North Holland and offers classic European picturesque views that radiate with a sense of history, reminding us that it was once a centre of finance and the diamond trade.

Meanwhile, Dubai is one of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UEA) that has recently been dazzling the world with construction of new sensational buildings reflecting a metropolitan Arab spirit.

These magnificent buildings have become a new tourist attraction, including the 800 metre-tall, 160-storey Burj Dubai Tower which is now open to the public, and “The World”, which constitutes 300 man-made islands laid out like a map of the world being built just off the coast. Also, the New Dubai, which includes Dubai Marina and another man-made island project called Palm Island at Interchange 5 between Jebel Ali harbour and Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and the American University.

The Garuda Indonesia flight to Amsterdam via Dubai will use an Airbus 330-200 aircraft that can carry 222 passengers, 36 Business Class and 186 Economy Class.

The flight will also provide additional comfort for its passengers with its inflight entertainment system featuring Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) which offers a choice of 25 films, 10 TV programmes, 35 music albums and 25 interactive video games. Business class passengers will enjoy the flight even more with fully reclining seats that can be turned into a flat bed.

Flight GA088 to Amsterdam is scheduled to depart from Jakarta (CGK) at 21.00 West Indonesian Time every day, arriving in Dubai (DXB) at 02.09 Local Time, taking off again at 03.15 Local Time, and arriving in Amsterdam (SPL) at 08.00 Local Time.

The return flight, GA089, departs from Amsterdam (SPL) at 10.00 Local Time every day, arriving in Dubai (DXB) at 18.30 Local Time, taking off again at 19.45 Local Time, and arriving in Jakarta (CGK) at 07.10 West Indonesian Time.
