After conducting a thorough evaluation of the organization of Lake Toba Fiesta (Pesta Danau Toba) in the past, the Organizing Committee has decided the schedule of this year event to 8-14 September 2013. From this year on, the event will be held in September and renamed as Festival Danau Toba (Lake Toba Festival).
Mangindar Simbolon, The Regent of Samosir, which will host the Festival this year said this to AITT Diectror Lenni Purba when the two met during the sideline of 11th Gebyar Wisata dan Budaya Nusantara (Indonesia Tourism and Culture Expo) held in Jakarta Convention Centre 23-26 May 2013.
Simbolon says that the decision to change the schedule from the initial plan in July is because September is a popular month for international travelers to make overseas holiday trip. “We want more international tourists as well as domestic ones to come to make this festival more successful”.
The good news, according to Simbolon, starting from this year, this event has been adopted become a national event. This means, the organization of this event will be under direct supervision and budget of Ministry of Tourism and Economic Creative of the Republic of Indonesia. During the discussion, Regent Simbolon personally asks Anugerah Indonesia Tour & Travel to participate in the publicity and marketing of this event.
