Indonesian SKY Aviation will fly Tanjungpinang (Indonesia) Malacca (Malaysia) twice a week on Sunday and Wednesday starting 1st April 2011. This new route is the second international route for SKY after it’s firts one Pekanbaru Malacca.
The inaugural flight from Tanjungpinang Raja Ali Haji Airport to Malacca Airport and return takes place today, 30 March 2012. According to SKY Tanjungpinang District Manager Edi, the ticket fare for one way flight from Tanjungpinang to Malacca will be withing the range of Rp. 500.000 to Rp. 600.000 per pax.

Among guests present during the inaugural ceremony held at Raja Haji Fisabililah Airport Tanjungpinang this morning are Marshal (ret) Cheppy Hakim, SKY Aviation Senior Advisor on Aviation Safety, Governor of Kepulauan Riau Province Muhammad Sani, Mayor of Tanjungpinang Suryatati A . Manan and high ranking officials in the Kepulauan Riau Province administration and the municipality of Tanjungpinang.
During his speech, Marshal (ret) Cheppy Hakim, former Indonesian Air Force Commander, says that SKY Aviation set a top priority to it’s flight safety in accordance with international aviation safety standards. In a gesture to support his statement, Cheppy Hakim was asking for his audience attention for a few seconds to listen to the engine sound of one of SKY’s Fokker 50 airplanes while landing at the tarmac of Raja Haji Fisabililiah airport during his speech.
Presently SKY Aviation flies 13 cities in Indonesia: Denpasar, Mataram, Labuhan Bajo, Batam, Natuna, Pangkalpinang, Tanjungpandan, Singkep, Pekanbaru, Tanjungpinang, Dumai, Matak and Jambi.
