After being grounded for more than a year, PT Mandala Air, Tuesday (27/3/2012), announce to resume flight on 5th April 2012.
The first flight will bring the passenger from Jakarta to Medan. Subsequently, be followed by its international route on 4 May 2012 from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mandala air and Tiger Airways made a joint press release in Singapore. The company starts selling the ticket for boths flights today.
“Flight for other routes, is expected to be announced soon,” the press release says.
Tiger Airways is the second biggest shareholder of the airline with 33%. The biggest share of the company is owned Saratoga Group of Sandiaga Uno with 51,3%. This situation makes Saratoga as controlling shareholder. The remaining 15,7% of shares belonged to old shareholder and several creditors.
Mandala had stopped operating since Januari 2011 shortly after its flight licence suspended by the regulator.
One way ticket from Jakarta to Medan costs Rp. 519.900. In the meantime one way ticket from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur costs Rp. 329.900. Jakarta to Singapore costs Rp. 213.000. Terms and condition apply.
